N°15
Hello hello, I hope everyone is doing well as sweet sweet February draws to an end!
I have some very fun updates from the past month!
I’m so thankful to say that I’ve been staying busy with freelance art department work!
I’ve been having the best time working with a Production Company called the
Good Time Society! (click for site)
I’ve been working with Good Time Society since September, either performing the roles of production designer and all around art department , or assisting another production designer with the build/paint for their set. Starting this year, production design work with Good Time Society has picked up even more— it has been so creatively fulfilling to design, construct and paint as I have been. What can I say, I love to get my hands dirty!
Some fun stuff to show off…..
I have quite a bit of new work to show off! Unfortunately, as it goes, not all of the content has been released so I’ll have to keep most things tight to the chest for now, but here’s one project that just dropped!
The first design I did for Good Time Society was for DUX SOMNIUM games
La Fleur: Rococo Gardens
Good Time Society (click for YouTube channel) works with gaming companies to do tutorials, play-throughs, and marketing content for new games, cards, or collectables that are released. My first job was to design and construct a small (approx. 8’x4’) backdrop/set for a tutorial for ‘La Fleur: Rococo Gardens.’
I don’t know about you…. but when I think of Rococo, I think of:
‘The Swing’
by Jean-Honoré Fragonard
This image is essentially where I got all inspiration for the
‘La Fleur’ set design!
Rough Scenic Rendering:
Here you can see an abstract wall with empty, portal-like frames, greenery, and the cutest little swing to display the game box! Are we inside or outside? Both and neither— as the players hop around between garden parties and Chateau’s, I wanted an abstract environment to set the scene for the tutorial.
I purchased, built and painted everything on this set! Except for the game of course!
